SAMARITAN INTERNATIONAL EV
SAMARITAN INTERNATIONAL (SAM.I.) is a European network of 22 non-profit NGOs from 20 countries, based in Brussels. Independent from political and religious influences, it works in areas such as social services, first aid and rescue, civil protection, youth work, and volunteer management. The network brings together around 145,000 volunteers and focuses on strengthening emergency response, community resilience, and citizen participation, while also representing its members’ interests at the European level.
Since 2012, SAM.I. has continuously coordinated at least one cross-border project per year, most of them EU-co-financed, including initiatives under DG ECHO (disaster prevention and preparedness) and CERV (civic engagement). The organization has led projects such as I_TEM, which developed specialized training for emergency responders and social service volunteers, and SEE, an ongoing project aimed at mobilizing both formal and spontaneous volunteers to enhance community resilience. SAM.I.’s key staff and experts bring strong experience in EU project management, disaster response, civil protection, and volunteer coordination, ensuring effective implementation and impact of project activities.
